Get Involved Now-March 3 2018 our biggest fundraisers of the year at The Canadian Brewhouse North Edmonton

  • Canadian Brewhouse North. 12711 97 Street Northwest Edmonton, AB, T5E 4C1 Canada (map)

On March 3, 2018 we will be holding one of our biggest fundraisers of the year – a pub night that includes a large silent auction. This year’s event is being held at the famous The Canadian Brewhouse Edmonton. All funds received from this event go directly towards enhancing our children/youth programs for the upcoming year.

Fundraisers like this make it possible for our Foundation to operate throughout the year and overcome the obstacles of increasing costs associated with running & maintaining our facility to continuously chase the pursuit of excellence by opening our programs up to more children and youth in our community!

Evidence is everywhere of the benefits of kids' fitness in all kinds of ways.
If children get into good habits of taking part regularly in physical activities, then throughout their youth and as they move into adulthood and grow older, they will be in much better physical shape. An active lifestyle is associated with decreased risk of cardiovascular problems or disease. Significantly, it has beneficial effects on overall mental health and quality of life too.

There's also a strong body of research linking regular physical activity with enhanced cognition and brain function. Several hypotheses describe effects such as increased blood and oxygen flow to the brain, a greater output of endorphin's resulting in stress relief and greater pleasure, and increased production of compounds to protect the nervous system.

Exercise causes a child's nerve cells to multiply and develop stronger, more robust connections. It encourages nerve cells release proteins that trigger other chemicals stimulating brain functions and promoting neural health. This encourages the brain to work at its full capacity, and can have a positive influence on learning ability and a child's academic performance.

BIG THANKS TO OUR ANNUAL SPONSORS OF OUR CHILDREN & YOUTH EMPOWERMENT MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAMS

community.jpg

In 2017 our kids and youth program was able to reach over 1000 plus, and we launched the "Be a Buddy, not a Bully" Physical Preparation Program.  Our main goal with the kids and youth program was to help kids stand up against bullies, and hopefully help end the relentless bullying that continues daily for the children/youth in our local community.  In 2017 we encouraged the children to change behaviors and have started the "Buddy Board" in which we are rewarding positive behaviors which has been an extremely successful technique. We are very proud of this program and hope to be able to help more children and youth in the future with the support from this event empowering more children/youth to absooutely succedd at everything they set thier minds to in 2018.
